ecQ-net Registration Information

Registering through STARS

ecQ-net module offerings are scheduled through the Ohio Department of Education STARS system unless otherwise noted. Participants will need to obtain a SAFE account in order to search and register for any module scheduled through the STARS system. Below are steps for accessing STARS as well as obtaining a SAFE account. If you have questions while obtaining a SAFE account, please e-mail STARS at STARS.support@ode.state.oh.us. If you have questions locating an ecQ-net module once in STARS, please contact us through our contact form under the About Us section.

1. Direct your Internet Browser to this web page: https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal/default.asp
2. If you have not created a SAFE account, click on the "Click Here" after the words "I am a new SAFE user."
3. Follow the steps outlined on the following pages. You will need a drivers license and a valid e-mail address. Now you should have your SAFE account set up and have logged back into STARS via this web site: https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal/default.asp.
4. Click on the "STARS v2.0" link.
5. You should now be at your Dashboard page.
6. Click on "Event Search".
7. In the "Event Name" search field, search for the Module ID you're looking for. Typically, entering fewer items in the search fields will pull up better results.
8. If you are put on the wait list, this is normal. The way we are utilizing STARS' participant filter, most participants are placed on the wait list. Once you are in they system for your particular module(s), we will move you to the confirmed list.
